Understand, when I use the word "liberal" I'm using it in the modern sense, not in the classical sense of an educated and enlightened advocate of individual liberty. Today's "liberal" is a collectivist, willfully ignorant, demagogic, and intolerant of all that do not share his world view. Some posters here claim to be "liberals," but in the current vernacular they're actually more like libertarians. "Conservative" doesn't mean today what it used to mean either. Many of the people calling themselves "conservatives" these days are a far cry from the Goldwater conservatives of my youth.seamusTX wrote:Would you please be careful about what you are labeling "the liberal mentality"?VMI77 wrote:That's the liberal mentality.
Anyway, this guy was not prosecuted. The cops told him he did the right thing. He is being punished by an (IMHO) idiotic bureaucrat. Granted it is within a non-law-enforcement government entity, the person who did the firing probably violated some policy by firing a first-time violator. Even serious criminal allegations usually result in suspension.
That's why I said the guy who was fired probably will be reinstated.
