Either that or the pin was removed and put back without the spring. I used to own a USP Compact .40 and the only reason I sold it was to get out from under the caliber. But I otherwise loved the gun and it was extremely reliable and shot well. I wouldn't mind owning another one today in either 9mm or .45. Great guns.Keith B wrote:Per Andy's article above
So sounds like he failed to replace te firing pin spring with a new one, and the old one may be weak.Mason said the gun had fired correctly "on a number of occasions" at biannual qualifications at the county's firing range, and subsequently fired correctly during tests after the Monday incident.
