I don't donate to organizations. (I especially resented my former employers attempting to coerce me into donating to one particular organization whose track record is deplorable. I would guess most here know the name of that organization.
I give first to: Family - In this arena without going into much detail, let me say that the economy has devastated some in my family so I've helped with them, til it hurts...
Second: Neighbors
Third: Immediate community
None to foreign charities - our government does more than enough in that arena.

I especially resent an organization that tells me "my fair share". Nix to them.Abraham wrote:I don't donate to organizations. Family and neighbors are good.

Dont forget the Tea Party.
I have come to the point of not contributing to any charities other than the Salvation Army. Too many charities now days are nothing more than shams that spend an obscene amount on admin & fund raising. I wont even buy Girl Scout cookies due to it supporting lib causes.

Too funny. The wife came home with some Thin Mints a while back and after giving her "the lecture" about supporting the libs with our money, I made her share em!WildBill wrote:I agree, but I make an exception for "Thin Mints".Jim Beaux wrote:I wont even buy Girl Scout cookies due to it supporting lib causes.

Salvation Army is the only charity I support regularly.Jim Beaux wrote:Dont forget the Tea Party.

Overall I'm a Tea Party kinda guy, but it's value varies by locale. I'm not real thrilled with what I'm seeing in some of the local chapters. Tea Party endorsement just tells me I need to research that candidate, just as a TSRA or NRA endorsement does. It narrows the field. But I am not a one-issue voter. I want good people with solid conservative values, that will not forget why we send them to DC.

I recently sent $100 to the NRA Political Victory Fund. And, I will likely send some to Romney after the convention. Maybe also NRA-ILA.

I don't always agree with the NRAs endorsements. Harry Reid is the best example.
I will probably donate to the Republican Party. I think our best chance at saving this republic lies in getting the GOP back in control. Then the task is to make sure they do the bidding of the people by the letter of the Constitution.
