No more visits to the DPS site, like loosing an old friend

Received mine in the mail today, this was my 2nd Renewal

04/20/12 - Filled out on line application
06/10/12 - Completed renewal class
06/11/12 - Submitted CHL-100 and checklist on line
06/18/12 - License Status: Application packet has been received from the applicant, the application is in progress.
07/11/12 - Fingerprints and Background check complete. Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending
07/12/12 - Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing
07/14/12 - Concealed Handgun License : Mailed
07/19/12 - Received CHL in mail

38 Days Total

I thought that you could have one in your vehicle with or without a CHL.

No Wally World...went to Texas Roadhouse instead. Wanted a short and simple first carry. I'm glad I finally got to do it legally. It is kind of a bittersweet milestone in light of today's horrific news from Aurora.

Edit: In regards to the bolded word...I didn't mean to imply that I ever carried illegally. Honestly...I'm a rule follower, for the most part.

Unfortunately they didn't use my DL picture. I hope I never have to show it to anyone.

Well congrats to teri and rickyrick! I am sure I have mine as well but I am in philadelphia and mine is 1600 miles away in a mail box! (Vacation) Good for you guys! Be careful out there!

Well back from vacation checked the mail box.....PLASTIC!!!.... Online said it was mailed on 7/14 Saturday but was post marked 7/17 Tuesday. I am actually off to Wal-Mart so it will be a real " Wally-Walk"....Finally I can post this;

Final Timeline:
5/31/12 Online App.
6/2/12 CHL Class. (At the "Lone Star Gun Range" with Ross and Dottie Bransford...Thanx)
6/2/12 Finger Prints
6/4/12 Mailed packet regular USPS (after checking rechecking and checking again to make sure it was right!)
6/14/12 First change appears online showing recieved all stuff and in background check
7/12/12 28 LONG days later "Manf Pending" Backgound complete.
7/13/12 Manufacturing.
7/14/12 Mailed.
7/17/12 Postmark
7/20/12 Plastic...(Dunno was away)
