We switched to Espressos and Latte's last year and never looked back.

Mr. Coffee is still #2. We use him for dinner parties where larger quantities are needed. :thumbs2:

Reviving this old thread to say that the manufacturer came through big time. Last Tuesday I came home to find a new $119.00 coffee maker on my front porch and Friday we got a check for the full amount of our insurance deductible. The new counter top has been on order for more than a week. Between the two the damage is nearly fully covered. It's a lot more than I originally had hopes for. I'm sending a big thanks to the manufacturer. :thewave :thumbs2:
Glad you are happy with the outcome, but I think I would have requested the manufacturer pay for the damage as well so I wouldn't have had an insurance claim. Their faulty product caused the damage, so they have the liability.

I bought a new Kenmore refrigerator back in 1990 for our new house we built. The connection at the valve under the fridge was not properly tightened from the factory and we were unaware that it was slowly dripping. Over a couple of months it had soaked through the hardwood floor under the fridge, but the heat in the house was keeping it dried out other than a small spot hidden by the fridge. We shut the house down for a week to go on vacation at Christmas and turned the heat down. When we returned the floor had buckled and warped. Whirlpool (the Sears/Kenmore manufacture) paid for our kitchen floor to be repaired ($2500) without any argument. :thumbs2:

I would not be surprised if your home owners insurance did not ask for compensation as well. Once the manufacturers have admitted fault, they carry the burden of all expenses involved. Regardless of who paid for the repairs.
