From a different perspective, we have often seen signs like, "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service." From that point of view, if you enter an office to buy services and it is posted with a non compliant sign, though it might not be illegal to carry, and no criminal charges could be enforced, the business could say that they do not serve patrons who are armed, and refuse services, right??

Maybe it's just my stage of life, but I can't say I've encountered that one yet.
Me too. I never had a doctor or nurse expect me to leave my clothes and wallet and car keys and house keys behind.

Businesses with noncompliant signs (or even no signs at all) can still give you oral notice that firearms are prohibited. Once that happens, you either leave, or you are breaking the law.

Exactly. I can look and see if you have on a shirt or shoes. I can even detect from plain observation if someone is smoking. But if someone is concealign a handgun, how can you tell.

It would be like "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Underwear, No Service." Plain observation usually cannot tell if someone has underwear on.

I know, kids nowadays with their pands below their butt and boxers showing are not included. If I had a business I would put a "No Shirts, No Shoes, Visible Underwear, No Service" :nono:

Correct! Any business has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Legally, businesses can not refuse service based on race, etc. :headscratch

WildBill,

Yes I do know that but thought it would be restating the obvious. :banghead: In most places restaing the obvious is necessary to attempt to overcome the "stupid quotient," but that's (generally) not a factor on here. :thumbs2:
