I didn't get anything either. Funny thing is that it's not a big deal and while I'd like this weekend to speed up the gun buying process at the Gun Show, I've lived without it so I can wait some more. I'm just not patient at all and when I see it's done, I want it now.

Mine is just a renewal, but it irks me that the mail can be so slow for such a short distance. It took USPS 5 days to deliver my renewal application 120 miles. But I've mailed things to Washington state and it gets there in 2. :banghead:

It showed up today. 47 days total. And they did use my driver's licence photo as I requested by enclosing a CHL-6 with "use drivers licence" on it. My old CHL photo was terrible. Just a big red blob for some reason. I'm surprised they even sent it out looking like that.

Well if your plastic showed up today then perhaps mine will as well. As long as I get it by tomorrow that's all I care about.

I for one waited quite a few years (over 10) from when I was eligible to when I applied for my CHL, but for some reason once I made the decision and took the class, I wanted it right then!

So I called the DPS and they told me it can take 7-10 business days to mail from Austin to Houston!! My 3 year old daughter could walk from Houston to Austin and back in less than 7-10 days. This brings a whole new meaning to snail mail because that is how they must be sending things.

Maybe they're using a Jenny mule to deliver it.
 In other news, I just got the email that my CBST and belt have shipped. That will make 20 days from when I placed the order to when it shipped - a bit better than the 4-6 weeks advertised!
