I don't get the trajectory thing either. I don't have a scope on any of my .22LR rifles and have shot at the 50 yard bays at Elm Fork. With iron sights I can aim at the bullseye and hit within 2-3 inches.

My personal suspicion is that they want to keep the line clear for center-fire rifles.
I doubt this is it. I've never seen that part of the range full, and I've been there on beautiful Saturdays and, most recently the lunch hour before deer season opened to check my rifle. Despite the line to check in, they still had plenty of open seats on the 100 yard range. They may be a little busier now that it seems everyone in the world bought an AR, but that has been their policy for years.

Whatever the reason, real or imagined, if those reasons keep the public range open a while longer, its to our advantage to keep it open.

If I remember right, waay back when, the family that made the land of Elm Fork available to the Cty of Dls for a Public Park required a public
shooting range. No range, and the property goes back to the family.

Dallas, and developers, would love to close Elm Fork. Its gonna happen, lets play nice and keep it open as long as we are able.

My bad on the rant. Progress happens. Check it out. See what you think.
