Issues with CHLPP?

Update: 2 more e-mails to the owner/lawyer of CHLPP had yielded no further responses. I called him directly today, and he says that my check was sent in August (though a note in August said my commission would go out Sept 10th). He confirmed my address and said they would re-issue. Inability to deal with something this basic to those who are their "bread and butter" makes me lose confidence in their program, and I will no longer lay their material out at my classes.

And posting this experience here will likely make others think twice. Some people just do not have much of a business sense, I guess. Something this basic is a no brainer.

Do you have a contract? If so, enforce it.

I do and it states how and when to be paid. Other than calling and writing several times, suggestion short of a lawyer (which wouldn't be worth it). I will no longer lay their material out unless there is some real good explanation that i cannot think of. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had this problem and was it resolved.

I once had to collect business related past due receivables and the best method is to call and explain:

That you intend to file in small claims court if payment in full is not received within 10 days.
That a judgement will add approximately $90.00 to the outstanding balance. (fees and process serving by constable)
That the person or his lawyer will have to show up in court or a default judgement will be rendered.

I generally got payment quickly; and if not, real quickly (plus the extra fees) after they were served by a constable. Seldom did I end up in front of the judge.

I heard all kinds of excuses, lost invoice, payment must have been lost in the mail, secretary was sick, etc. (Trust me, they lie)


Small claims is easy and effective ($10K limit) and I wouldnt hesitate to present a legitimate claim against an experienced trial lawyer (I bet the lawyer would be too embarrassed to not quickly resolve the debt.)
