Flight Attendant Attempts to Carry Gun Thru Security

Re: Flight Attendant Attempts to Carry Gun Thru Security
Some idiot fires a gun in an airport.
Instead of arresting the idiot who negligently fired a gun in the airport, they arrest the owner of the gun.
Like They said in Animal Farm, all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

She was carrying it in her purse. This is just one reason I tell women to please seriously consider on body daily carry. It is too easy to forget it's in the purse when it is there all the time. She is a flight attendant. I doubt she had plans to hijack the plane. If she is a CHL, she should have simply been turned back and told to go secure the gun in her vehicle. I know the law doesn't work that way, but it should.
The idiot who discharged it defies any adequate description of incompetence. He is the real danger the airport should be worried about. Given the numbers of guns that are found this way at airports all over the country, why weren't the personnel trained far better than this? Don't let this guy handle any slingshots, peashooters, or butter knives.

Maybe TSA should get "Eddie Eagle" training for their people. If they see a gun they shouldn't touch it and call an adult.

It wasn't TSA, they are strictly forbidden from touching firearms, it was a LEO.WildBill wrote:Maybe TSA should get "Eddie Eagle" training for their people. If they see a gun they shouldn't touch it and call an adult.

If he keeps his job, his agency makes the Keystone Kops look professional, and they embrace it.
The ball is in their court.
this is philfthydelphia we are talking about, they make the keystone cops look like delta force, filthydelphia blows up its own residents because squatters inhabit one or 2 row houses, they send out cops on ambulance calls and the cop refuses to take someone in his car cause they are bleeding like a stuck pig, and refuses to have the bus come out. they also had to be taken to court and forced to accept the Pensylvania CHL, you can't even carry your razor refils on the public trans. yea I did unfortunatley live there at one time, glad a got my tail back to texas asap. and on top of that the idiot ND'ing person will get several medals for heroism and bravery, be promoted and become a defective I mean detective
Re: Flight Attendant Attempts to Carry Gun Thru Security
Turns out it was a female LEO so all the "he" references are incorrect. She is reportedly on desk duty for now. Of course, this has nothing to do with which gender the "idiot" is. It has everything to do with what kind of "training" are they giving LEO's up there? I have read that many new recruits these days have no experience whatsoever with guns and sometimes they just don't get training in anything but their semi-automatic service weapons, but STILL, that would not explain the finger on the bang switch.
Also, if weapons are going to be cleared on a regular basis at airports, why is there not a clearing barrel somewhere? If it's vital to grope the depends of old folks, you would think clearing barrels are at least as important.

I've never seen clearing barrels anywhere except on an Army base. They seem like a good idea particularly at gunshows and ranges.

Id bet you have seen them a lot and just not recognized um as such.Liberty wrote:I've never seen clearing barrels anywhere except on an Army base. They seem like a good idea particularly at gunshows and ranges.
The smaller pistol only versions which are built to contain one time only a pistol round are often there and partially hidden by furniture, decorations, or even built in to a cabinet. Or there are in a back room and you just never see um.
I have seen ones this size in a cabinet

Guards walked by going on shift and cleared, and off shift clearing again. Once done and the door closed, you would never know it's there.
The old style 55 gal drum filled with sand bags is not even very popular on a Army post in the states these days, outside of the training areas...

I have a relative who is LEO working in a large Northeast city.
His comment was the officers that couldn't hack it out on patrol -- the bottom of the barrel -- were the ones that got put either into the evidence room or assigned to airport duty.

Comforting to know if we have a major emergency at an airport that the LEO's handling it are more likely to be incompetent. That does not sound like a good plan to me. I sure hope it is not the habit around the country.

If she isn't fired, I think the department should get an exemption from the LEO bashing rule. If the department allows people to shoot up airports and keep their job, they deserve to be bashed every day of the year and twice on Christmas.
