I am sure that someone will buy the Hostess brand and start making them again.

I see a business opportunity for anyone who would like to own a Little Debbie's concession in Colorado.

There is likely a better one. Buy the Hostess and Twinkie brand names in the bankruptcy and then re-open bakeries in Texas as a non-union shop. I'm sure that there are enough skills available that it won't be necessary to hire any of those who volunteered to give up their positions.
Even if you started out no bigger than the local donut shop, I suspect that people would be clamoring for more product than you could produce.

Brilliant! But pot still isn't legal in Texas.

The union is NEVER about jobs. It is ALWAYS about wresting control of an industry out of the hands of its owners. I'm sure they thought that Hostess would cave. OOPS!

The irony to me is:
The Teamsters union is urging the bakers union to hold a secret ballot on whether to continue striking. Citing its financial experts who had access to the company's books, the Teamsters say that Hostess' warning of liquidation is "not an empty threat or a negotiating tactic" but a certain outcome if workers keep striking.

Members of one labor union just put members of another labor union out of work.
Well, looks like the Teamsters just got a taste of union greed.

A rising tide lifts all ships. What unions often ignore is the reverse.
Oh well. Maybe this will be a good opportunity for Bimbo to expand their market share in white bread and snack cakes. I think they use real sugar instead of that nasty corn syrup.

I don't get it. You can bailout GM, which was sinking over union demands, but you can't bailout Hostess, which is also sinking over union demands. We need Twinkies a LOT more than we need GM cars.

Michelle Obama would make sure Barrack bailed out a brocolli farm, but not Hostess.
