The holidays seemed to really throw a wrench into the process... there was a 10 day difference between the date the website said "Mailed" and the actual postmark on the mail when it was received... so from "Mailed" to in-hand took 14 days.

It took me 4 days from mfg, to mailed. Mine showed mailed last Thursday, but no plastic with yesterday's mail.

you should have an update by Saturday at the latest! I just put Mrs. Wodathunkit application in today, takes her class Saturday and fingerprints Monday, hope to mail all her stuff Monday. It will give me something to do now that I'm addicted to checking the CHL site 4 times a day.....I've been going through withdrawals

As part of my 12 step program (It has been AT LEAST 12 hours since I last checked status (-:).
Here is my UPDATED timeline so far...
Online Application: 11/26/12
CHL CLass/Fingerprints: 11/30/12
Submitted Documents: 12/03/12
Received by DPS: 12/05/12 (sent return receipt required)
Background Review: 12/31/12 (Under Review)
Manufacturing Pending: 01/13/13
26 days to get a status change from "waiting to receive documents" to "under review".
14 days in background review.

Hi all...New guy here.
Mailed my packet Certified Mail -12/31
Received confirmation 1/5
No status change on site....and like others have said, I now have my DL# memorized!
Been lurking for a bit, decided to join the wait and chat and learn.

An observation for all that are still watching for updates after mailing docs or while background check is under review: based on my experience so far it looks like they update those two categories in batch mode once weekly on the weekend. And then once background check is finished they update nightly real time.
