Guess the guy that committed murder/suicide in Wyoming used a gun too. Oh wait, someone wanting to kill someone else can use a knife? Who would have thought.

But basically Costas said "he knows" if the KC linebacker did not have a gun, him and his wife would still be alive. Wow, sports casters are psychics.

So, if guns were outlawed, murder would never happen?... Life according to Costas.
Next thing you know, he will be blaming airplanes for 9/11.

So we have a guy who takes painkillers, alcohol, and has a problem with a brain injury from his job. And it is easy access to a gun that caused his death. My lib friends are having a field day.

A buddy of mine commented that hearing Costas made him so upset, he feels the need to go out and expand his arsenal tomorrow, just to spite him. (And he's had his eyes on some new acquisitions.) I concur, but if I did that every time I heard anti-2A rhetoric from the MSM, I'd be a poor man with a well stock gun safe!

I'd suggest contacting the folks responsible for airing SNF. Personally, I found it in extremely bad taste and without class. This should have been a time to hornor the dead. Now if the recently orphaned Zoey grows and wonders what they said about her daddy, she'll find that video. I copied some contact info if you like:

Copied from another forum:

For those that wish to contact NBC about the comments, here you go. I have already made my comments to them.

Let NBC and Costas know what you think about his anti-gun comments. Remember, keep it short, civil and to the point!... Leslie Byxbee Publicist NBC Sports Group (212) 664-4539

Football is a violent sport and regardless of what rules the nfl makes or what they claim, it is encouraged.
Big hits make the highlights and get the fans to cheer, coaches have even been known to pay players to intentionally injure others.
It has been shown that the beating these players take week in week out can lead to brain injury and lifelong pain.

Yet, the problem is not with the culture of the sport he played....it's with the firearm that he used to commit the act?

I have always liked Bob Costas as a sports reporter, but to blame the tragedy on anything but a sick unstable human who needed help is just asinine.

For what it will be worth, I sent in a complaint to Fox Sports.

I believe the "what did they do?" question was more from the aspect that Costas works for NBC, and NBC's Sunday Night Football was where he espoused his learned opinion on firearms and violence.

However, Costas was referencing a piece by Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock, so you didn’t miss the mark entirely.

I would like to know what the NRA is going to do about this? They have the capital and marketing staff to counter this off-based personal commentary, they can easily make this a huge issue among their members and ultimatly the advertisers.

Costas...words fail me completely. I'm disappointed but not surprised that he was allowed to go off on the air.

Personally, I'm done with sports and will begin by completely ignoring the National Felon League (NFL). I'm sick of thugs being paid millions and millions of dollars to play what amounts to a child's game only to be coddled, protected, and revered by owners, coaches, other players, networks, and fans.

What's everybody complaining about? All of you watching this tool are his enablers. All of you watching commercial television enable all the left-wing programming and these left-wing rants. You help pay the salaries of the lefties because viewing their programming enables them to collect revenue by advertising. Every time you turn on your television and watch the provided fare you're voting for this kind of garbage.
