It's "Wintergreen." I even tell people on my website that if you don't like the smell of wintergreen, you won't like the smell of Froglube when you first use it. The smell DOES go away immediately though once it's heat-applied, and doesn't come back. Personally, my wife likes it a LOT more than Hoppes #9 and a far cry more than Ballistol (which smells like a basket of two-week old dirty sweat-socks )

Diluted oil of wintergreen will repel birds when sprayed on porches, buildings ect. The smell will grow on you. Back a thousand years ago, I was always searching for a girl who used Hoppes #9 for parfume. Might have gotten my attention. I told my grand daughter that vanilla extract would attract boys and flys--she could whip the boys and swat the flys.

I have a Taurus PT140 along with numerous other handguns and have always used Tetra Gun grease, or in the case of my AR's Tetra gun oil or BreakFree CLP. Never had any lubrication issues. My 2 cents.
