I just bought an AR10 yesterday - so I have skin in the game now.

I am sure I would not want to be in a crew that had to go confiscate any owners guns!

You know what Oldgringo, normally I would be irritated with you. But I've got a bad feeling you might be right...
normally...?
You know I'm a registered Republican...and normally I might be irritated by a perceived whack at my party...but I'm afraid that this time, because of the young children who were viciously removed from this Earth long before their time, that some Republicans will give into calls for gun control...even though the "GFSZ" didn't do a thing to stop that filthy goblin from his dirty work.

Actually, my shooting buddy and I were going target shooting today with our .22's. He's more liberal than I and as expected, registration was the first thing out of his mouth when he called this morning. We didn't go shooting.
Both New Jersey and Connecticut have registration, and that didn't stop this crime. Furthermore, the guns were registered in the name of the shooter's mother.........and she was one of his victims. Registration is pointless. Equally pointless....the shooter was apparently known to be "not normal" before all this ever went down.

I can tell you something I do not see yet, and that is something on the NRA website. Is that good news for us, or bad news? I will not be surprised to see the MSM to pick up on this before this is over.

I've voted for every Republican candidate starting with, and since, Barry Goldwater; however, I'm not a "my party, right or wrong" type of guy. This is gonna' be a hard one to duck, no pun intended.

I am adamantly opposed to registration. History has shown that registration is the first step toward confiscation. I expect we'll see large capacity mag issues and don't be surprised if waiting periods becomes a compromise position.

Probably well thought out good decision by NRA. For a lot of folks, ol' Charlton Heston holding up that musket and saying "from my cold dead hands" in Denver a week after Columbine still sticks in their craw

4:52 p.m: Ryan Lanza, 24, brother of gunman Adam Lanza, 20, tells authorities that his younger brother is autistic, or has Asperger syndrome and a “personality disorder.” Neighbors described the younger man to ABC as “odd” and displaying characteristics associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

If this news is accurate, I hope she had a CHL. If the guns had been on her person, he wouldn't have been able to get at them. But of course, she couldn't have them in the school.

They anti's won't buy that argument for school carry, but maybe some people who don't yet have hard opinions would.

Though I know that there is a CHL program in Connecticut, it is very unlikely that woman had one. I really don't think it is very widespread in any northeastern state, minus perhaps Pennsylvania.

Really?

"Many Connecticut women agree with her, according to statistics provided by state police. The number of female gun owners in the state is on the rise – between January and June this year, 3,584 gun permits were issued to women."

"In Connecticut, 30,374 women own gun permits, according to data provided by state police "

Does this seem to happen in Blue states more ?

4:52 p.m: Neighbors described Adam Lanza to ABC as “odd” and displaying characteristics associated with mental illness.

4:41 p.m.: Federal law enforcement sources now say Connecticut school shooting gunman was Adam Lanza, 20, and not his brother Ryan Lanza, 24, as earlier reported. Adam was found dead in the school along with his mother, a kindergarten teacher there

How many times will we have to see ultra armed and ultra equipped SWAT teams arrive after the tragedy?
People need to be armed to prevent this kind of thing, whether its in a school, business, home or wherever.
Illegal guns are never going to be confiscated even if everyone elses are and there is never going to be a shortage of sick and evil people on this earth.
You can't have a gun in a school--unless you just walk in with it with evil intent.

This definitely ain't the time to proclaim the gun didn't do it. There will be plenty of opportunity to put forth that position in the days, months and years to come

The political left certainly hasn't wasted any time proclaiming the gun DID do it...
