The day after the election I went into Gibson's and bought a Bushmaster .308 and ordered five Magpul 20 round magazines for it and 700 rounds of HPBTs. Stuff was flying off their shelves then.

If nothing else my logic made great sense to dear wife and I finally got my AR-type rifle .

Just this last Thursday I stood in a gun store looking to buy my first AR. I remember telling the salesman that as sure as I didn't buy it, I'd turn on the TV tomorrow and see a call for banning them. So I bought it and went home not knowing that my words had truth in them. Friday night I saw some on TV calling for banning "Assault weapons" making my prophecy true. Yesterday I placed an online order for some 30 round mags as I figure they will soon be in short supply. My daughters boyfriend has been talking about wanting an AR. I told her to tell him he better buy one fast as the supply is going to get tight.

I was at Academy just a little bit ago and the place was slammed. Most of their Glocks were sold out and the rifles were thinning by the minute. I had to ask for .380 ammo and he had to crack open a box to get some. It was the busiest I've ever seen it.

I stopped by the Mesquite show today looking for a belt or two. They didn't have my size. I walked around a bit and noticed the dealer I bought my G21 mags from a few weekends ago at the Lewisville show was completely sold out of them. She also had her PMags up to $16.95 from $13.95 and there weren't many left. I couple of the other dealers were sold out of their 30rnd PMags and only had a few of the 20rnd ones.

My academy was packed and very low on amo, no fmj 9 boxes. Did find hundred count of federal at Walmart for only 19.97 tho so bought a few boxes

Wife and I were at Cabela's Friday, it was part of my plan for the day anyway, but I'm not going to lie, when I turned on the news Friday at noon it definitely made it an easier decision to come home with more ammo than previously anticipated. Also picked up a really nice S&W Model 66-1 .357 Magnum. I, and many others, were in the firearms checkout line for 1.5 hours plus.

I admit to falling for the panic buy today. Not the way I wanted it to go but color me shocked if we don't have a new AWB in the next 3 months or so.

I fully agree. The emotions are running way too high.

I didn't go in, but had lunch up near the Academy in Keller off North Tarrant Parkway and 377 just now. The parking lot was slammed. I'm sure a lot of that was due to Christmas shopping, but I'd be surprised if some of it wasn't gun purchases. I tried to see what folks were carrying to their cars, but I was too far away.

I think that is the case in most places. I have a buddy that runs a gun shop in Florida who said the ARs and AK variants are flying off of the shelves. I hadn't priced .223 ammo in a while and when I jumped online last night, I found not only was it scarce but coming in between 0.45 and 0.50 odd cents a round for brass cased plinking ammo.

I gave in and ordered 10 pmags from brownells, every time they get them in they go back ordered

Me, I'm just keeping them for a rainy day when I can't get them . 12 bucks each I figure why not

I'll probably leave them in their packaging unless they get banned, in which case the packaging is worthless and then the magazines go in a bag. While I have the ammo to, I am not going to load them all, just a couple. Unless there mass rioting, then I might load them all. Why do you ask?

If they get banned, or guns get banned, I wonder if they'll go through all the posts here to see who they should inspect to make sure everything was turned in to be destroyed. Maybe Charles will delete the posts by then, but if we are already on some list like someone was talking about, then maybe all the posts are already being copied. I'm not using TOR or anything to try to protect my identity other than not flat out saying my (last) name. My first name really is Thomas. Anyone who is keen enough could probably figure out who I am.

Dang, maybe I am getting paranoid?
