Good idea I also added that I don't want to receive their mailings any longer....

I just confirmed this. I can't stand opportunists. The gun sales thing I could dismiss as a business decision

But this is just ripping people off and is the straw that breaks this camels back ... buh bye CTD

And THIS is what I was talking about with Alinsky's "Rule #9"...these dumb jerks at these companies are doing it to THEMSELVES out of FEAR of the unknown...and I agree with you TAM that they are COWARDS!

I sent them an email telling them to not send any more catalogs. Reminding them my last order about 3months ago was just over $300.00 & I was deleating them from my favorites list.
I really think they will feel the $$er effects of this.

I contacted someone I know who is well-connected to the firearms industry about all of this. He is only an online acquaintance, so I'm not sure how much he'll share with me, but he IS a reliable source of info. If I hear something concrete, I will pass it along to you all.

Have you see what they did to their price of .223/5.56 ammo? .70 to over $1 per round... pulled up ammo engine and get a feel for everyone else and low and behold, the price of .223 has skyrocketted....
Wish I had stocked up a little more.

Am I the only one to get a website unavailable message on budsgunshop? Are they a victim in all this too?

Looks like Buds has having a denial of service attack and is offline.

Bud's Gun Shop website is still down. .308 ammo is scarcer and of course more expensive. I bought 700 rounds about a month ago (and shot up 150 rounds) - real sorry I didn't buy 2-3,000, at least I have a decent stockpile left.

I sent CTD an email a year ago asking to be removed from their mailing list and proclaiming I won't do business with them - I was ahead of the curve on this one.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Oh, glad I bought five 20 round Magpul .308/7.61 mags a month ago. One of the few instances where I've had good timing.

I've been watching CTD facebook. They've committed online business suicide. 10,000+ comments and less than 1% shows support for their decision. The fact they haven't posted anything else to support their decision after all these comments tells me this is a long term policy change. I've changed my position, I'll give it a few days to watch for feedback from them, if I don't see anything positive then I'm out too. Has anyone confirmed if the owner of CTD is the same owner of Tactical Firearms, eerily similar. :biggrinjester:

I caved and got the membership to Sportsman's Guide. I wasn't going to do it but when I check ammo prices they always have the lowest with shipping.

"503 Service Temporarily Unavailable"

Sounds like it's a bot attack that lets up once the service is down. Once it starts responding, it fires back up. This puts more strain on the ISP than a regular DNS attack since they are constantly dealing with it.
