I gave him my old "Lee Classic Loader" 6-8 months ago, and he's been hammering out .38 spl rounds in his shop behind his house and having a ball. I hope I get him totally hooked so I can borrow his stuff next year.
I always like seeing Sons and Daughters learning handloading and having fun doing it.
It's a good feeling to "Roll-Ur-Own".
PLUS...Reloading ideas and tips etc. make a good conversation.
Good Job

I ordered a 255gr SWC mold for .452 as well as the top punches for my Lyman 4500 for my top cast bullets.
Hopefully my .308 Redding S dies will show up soon.

Yike - get better soon, Don

I'm 98% better now, Thanks.
Just playing in the shop today. UPS came today with my 65 lbs of yellow bees wax...Wow, never seen that much Bwax in one place
Now I gotta get my chemistry set cooking.
It's not all mine, most of its the Wife's for her lotions and such she makes.
Now I can experiment a little on some lubes. (She'll never miss a few pounds! )

last night I opened a real surprise package.... from Bayou Bullets (actually from my wife).... a 500 ct box of 138 grain wad cutters to keep the snub fed. I guessing about 2.5 gr of Unique should do just fine with these little purty green pills

I have 3-4 thousand each of both large and small pistol primers acquired after the current POTUS was first elected.
I suppose I should load up some handgun rounds; but quite frankly, I've found my .22's to be much more fun and economical to shoot. Oh well, winter is upon us, I reckon I'll load up a few more just for 'ol time's sake - if for no other reason.

There is quite a lot you can do with 22 LF bullets....They are my favorite all round bullet.
I have been buying a 500 round box or so every month for a long time now, back when they were $9 a box and less...!!! Remington's are the best but are harder to find around here.
So fun to shoot too....I have old rifles and pistols and new type rifles and pistols...they are all fun.
Plus my Sons and their wife's come over and we set up a shooting area in the back field with steel targets and paper ones and some just to make noise....Lotsa fun.

I meant to say (above) 3.5 grains of Unique with the 138 gr wadcutters from Bayou Bullets. They shot great today, but I'm bumping up to 3.8 gr so they don't feel so much like .22 lr's
I love them Bayou Bullets

My various .22's prefer Fed Auto Match,
et al, over the Remington cartridges; ergo, so do I. I was quite astounded to find that I knew so little about the lowly .22 LR when I stumbled upon
this forum . It is a great and friendly source of information and education....kinda' like the TexasCHL forum.
Nice talkin' with you. I'd better boogie before the thread hijack police come after me.

Oh, if you know of any old beat-up rusty 10/22's lying around, give me a holler....

AndyC wrote:No big news, but bought myself a Franklin Armory rotatory media-sifter thingy with my Bass Pro gift-card today. Always wanted one but had been reluctant to spend $40 on it - but now I have one *glee*
I NEVER BOUGHT ONE YET....???
No idea why, just never did.
I have been using a stainless spaghetti drainer (very deep) inside a 5 gallon bucket.
It's a little dusty sometimes, but I use all the precautions.
I remembered why I didn't buy one now. I was interested in the RCBS model but read a lot of problems with it coming apart while turning or something like that. Some of the others at the time had similar problems.
This was several years ago now..I'm sure they fixed the issues by now??
Let me know howya like it...Maybe I'll grab one just for fun.

Like every other gun, 22's are no different. Some like one brand of ammo and other????
Just seemed that the regular Remington 550 box ammo shot clean, and well in most of my 22's.
Others like CCI Mini-Mags.
It's the dang 22mag's that cost so much...wish they were cheaper..!!
My ole 3 screw Ruger Single Six revolver is my favorite 22 mag because for some reason its VERY ACCURATE...even with me shooting it
Have fun

Well Don2,
Not so quiet around here anymore!
Since all the reloading supplies and ammo has been stripped from all retailers known to man, there has been a lot of traffic in the reloading sections on several of the forums I frequent!
Careful what you wish for!
Shoot straight!

Yes Sir, it's getting crazy out there.
It's sure not my fault...It's all the Bone Heads trying to limit or stop us from owning guns and reloading supplies etc....!!!
I have been very patient in the past thinking it could never happen. But I am thinking otherwise TheZe DayZ..!!!
WHY is everyone so scared of guns ? If they are, they should also be afraid of knives, hammers, screwdrivers, garden tools, baseball bats, etc.... ( Where does it end? )
What a bunch of Wimpy people....!!
OK, I"LL STOP SHOUTING..!!!!!
Don
