The House passed an Affordable Care Act with Rep. Coa being the only republican to vote for it. The Senate had their 'own bill' which was passed with the deciding vote being cast by an unelected senator (Paul Kirk, appointed by Deval Patrick to temporarily fill the seat of Chappaquiddick Ted). When Scott Brown was elected, the liberals lost their 60th vote and could not move the House bill through the Senate. So, the vote cast by Cao was for the House bill that never moved through the Senate for passage.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act already passed by the Senate was pushed through the House with no republicans voting for it. The dems then used the reconciliation process (which they had hypocritically railed against in the past) to get amendments into the bill passed by the Senate. They even proposed a deem and pass vote (self executing rule / Slaughter rule), as a means to get their government control of health care bill passed. John Roberts probably would have found the house abdicating their duty to vote on the bill constitutional had the house actually used deem and pass.

Call me Nostradamus, but I firmly believe that by 01/31/13 there will be some sort of new AW restrictions in place. I believed this was coming PRIOR to CT and now with the bandwagon going full speed, they want to hit it before it slows down. Will they do confiscation? I don't know, but they will get the ban in place asap.

I hope/think you are wrong. There has been a number of threads on the forum quoting recent polls showing the public is opposed to additional gun legislation and in favor of a stronger security presence in schools. The left and the MSM are so opposed to the idea of embracing the additional security concept because they know it takes the focus away from their ultimate agenda.
I believe republicans will be watching/listening to their constituents very closely over the next few weeks. If they feel the majority leans against additional gun legislation (as it would appear it currently does) it will be the little nudge they need to stop any legislation from passing.
If they are smart they will spend the next few weeks putting forth their own proposals for school security in order to further shift the spotlight away from guns.

Executive Orders and regulation are the way to get around Congress, and are done on a very frequent basis. The EPA, for example, has basically shut down new coal plants, and is working on natural gas now, and Congress has not been involved. I believe the President when he says he will use "all the powers of his office" to address gun control. IMO most gun restrictions will occur this way, with very little coming from legislative action. I could be wrong.

I doubt seriously if they will come. Dictators and two-bit tyrants send others to do their dirty work.

I didn't think we were actually taking Alex Jones seriously. It is Alex Jones after all. Such an executive order would rip this country in half and would not be tolerated. I was speaking within the realm of reality, not fantasy.
G26ster has it right. BHO has used every means possible to make law without asking congress. He has signed more executive orders than any president in history.
If you look at what the Dems did to cram Obamacare down our throats, you will see that the rule of law is a minor inconvenience.
BHO and Holder smell NRA blood, and they are going for it - BATFE "revised interpretations", executive orders.

When it comes to confiscation, I doubt that will be by order or regulation. However, many other restrictions can be done by EO or regulation, and I don't think that is fantasy. That is why I said, "IMO most gun restrictions will occur this way, with very little coming from legislative action." Perhaps, due to the title of the thread I should have posted this under another topic.

Jones' problem is that yes, he is on the right track with many of his assertions but he gets caught up in fear and emotion instead of facts and sound conclusions.
