Wes wrote:After seeing the ridiculous CDR mag price I went ahead and ordered 5 of these, $106 delivered, not too bad really. Doesn't hurt to have extras right?! I have backordered some pmags through Brownells and midway a couple weeks back but don't want to rely on those as I have heard nothing on them.
You have heard nothing on Brownells, Midway, or PMAGS?

Ok! I understand. I read you had not heard anything about PMAGS. I guess I need to read slower.

Oh, lol, no no, I am we'll aware of what they are. I have several already but who doesn't need more. That and if I don't get my women some she will most definitely steal mine. The rifle she just got only had two steel mags.

I got a "shipped" email this morning from them. 22 days from order, I guess not to bad considering.

I place my order on the 26th. The SKS firing pin (with return spring... that part's very important) arrived a while back, but still no word on the pmags. I wish they had even just a "best guess... subject to change..." ETA for this stuff.

FYI
This order was from the Mako Group for the metal AR Mags that started this post. I think y'all are all waiting on Bownells correct?

I think they will come through. My order is in on 12-30-12.
My order shipped yesterday. I would like to know how many orders they still have to get to.

If I'm satisfied with my order, I'm prolly going to order 10 more and just throw em in the attic for a rainy day.

I got an email this morning that my Dec 19th order for 10 pmags from Brownells has been shipped. I feel like a miracle has occurred.

I did receive my order. They are well built and of course heavier. A cheap mail scale shows 8 oz vs 4 oz for a Bushmaster alum. I have not run any rounds through them yet. I did notice there seems to be just a scosh more room inside which makes loading M855 from stripper clips easier. I'm showing .037 longer for the 62 grain round vs a Black Hills 55 grain. It do make it tight.
I'm happy to have them. When I ordered they were advertizing 4 to 5 day shipping. Now they state 2-3 months. Probably have orders in the 100 thousands...

It is taking them a long time to fill orders, but they seem to be doing everything they can to package and ship them as quick as possible. One nice thing is that they use their facebook page to provide updates about what order numbers they are shipping so people can get a rough idea of the timeline. (For example, they will post something like, we are currently shipping orders around number 9000, and expect to ship orders in the 10,000 range by the end of the week.)
I'm pretty well stocked on mags, but ordered a few because everyone who has ever handled them has talked about the solid quality. And it never hurts to have a few extra mags
In my book, a company that is keeping customers informed and isn't raising prices to take advantage of the situation is a company that is doing things right. I'll wait.
