They don't need to go after Paul Howe directly. At least not in the beginning. They can go after the Internet toughguys living in suburbia. If they show up with arrest and search warrants during dinner time, do you really think the keyboard commandos will fire the first shot? Or will they fold quietly when their wife and kids could quickly become collateral damage if they resist?

If the DiFi bill has a six month grace period to register semiautomatcs, how much publc support will the outlaws get when they choose to break the law by not registering? How many of the self proclaimed III% lift a finger now to stop raids against NFA violators?

You are assuming he would shoot it out with a LE agency. I doubt it, because he would eventually loose. It is however IMHO an unlikely scenario. There will not be large scale confiscation by kicking down doors. The people would be ordered to turn in their guns. Those who did not may hide them in the attic, bury them, or whatever. They might be able to keep them forever, but they could never use them without the risk of imprisonment. They win with out kicking down doors unless we can stop the legislation.

In the short-term, yes. But since the politicians lack the will to stop giving away freebies and don't have the courage or integrity to do what's necessary fiscally, economic collapse at some point in the future is mathematically inevitable. When that happens people are going to need guns, and the appetite for gun control will disappear, along with whatever gun ban gets enacted today.

There are millions of gun owners who are fully aware that registration is followed by confiscation.
