Re: Steel cased versus brass cased ammo for your AR

In a world were spare barrels are available, for plinking, I guess the Wolf would be okay economically speaking. When You Have to Depend on Your Rifle and your rifle depends on what it's fed, I'm a brass and copper guy. When you could still buy 1200 rnds of IMI M193 for 329.00 including freight, even for plinking, there wasn't a chance I'd run steel through my guns.
Now,shudder, who knows. Will barrels be available? At what price? If Tula was selling at a $1 a round at gunshows (can't confirm this, read in another post) I have a souce for Black Hills, oh darn, knew I shouldn't have shared that link, HAD a source until today, that was shipping premium ammo for less than a $1. Still have another source with Federal V-Shok w/Nosler 72 grn bullets for not much more.
Just for spits and giggles I ran a hundred rounds of Wolf through all 3 guns to see if they'd reliably cycle, and they did. So if I'm looking at battlefield p/u, I'm not worried about short term use of the ammo. My only experience with BF p/u on ammo was almost 30 years ago and came with it's own handy dandy dispenser. Maybe AndyC or another member with more recent experience could share?
P.S. Even old and half blind, with Black Hills 77grn OTM in my "poodle shooter" I've out shot youngsters with FAL's at any range they cared to name, lol.
