The first thing that came to my mind was the Hitler Youth photos from the 1940s. This isn't a new PR stunt.

If anybody actually believes that the only thing this administration wants is no semi auto rifles and smaller capacity Mag's in handguns you are wrong! He is going to have a hard sell in Congress! Here is where you will see obama try to put a line through the constitution and insert executive order! How much he can do with an executive order we will see but it is almost guaranteed he will try and spit all over the second amendment. After all he knows better then Congress and the citizens of are great nation!

For the first time since this has happened, I actually feel physically ill over this.

Children are children, not props. This is an all time low for this administration.
I'm right there with you. None of this feels just, good or right. I'm afraid for my family, friends and future of our country. I'm amazed at how swiftly this administration can act against our rights and to increase the welfare state, but can't seem to accomplish the things it needs to do to improve the country. This "fight" is in our own back-yard.

I was thinking about hi pending EO's. He is probably hoping on a slow court challenge, and his getting to possibly put 2 in the supreme court. That game changes if that happens.

I look forward to seeing what "plan" Obama *proposes* tomorrow.

Then, a year from now, I really look forward to seeing how exactly none of the over-reaching, gun-grabbing, magazine-limiting, semiauto-banning, parts of his *proposal* made it into reality.

If he wants to name his pick for a permanent ATF head, he has the right. If he wants to fund NICS better, go for it. He wants our gun rights to be infringed, then it's time to stand up and fight those proposals through all the furor to come. I'll be promising my Congresspeople that this is the issue that will determine my next primary vote, political contribution, and general election vote. I hope millions and millions of others across the USA do the same.

Despite the low opinion that many here have of the president, he's not stupid.

I expect that he'll EO whatever he and his advisors feel like they can get away with. IMO, he'll also request a new AWB and other restrictions through Congress, knowing that it won't pass the House. By doing this, he panders to his base and can hold the Republicans up as responsible for anything that occurs, even if the restrictions wouldn't have had any effect on an incident (New York restrictions & Newtown).

If he's deluded himself into thinking he's got more than a 3% edge in voting (legal or not) citizens and taht he has a "mandate", I think he's find that he's miscalculated greatly (boy will the staffers catch heck) and could cripple his Presidency and enter lame duck status today.

We'll see, won't we.

What's that saying about "interesting times"?

I agree. He's not stupid in the least, and is probably the most shrewd politician I've had the displeasure of witnessing in my lifetime.

That is a common tactic in the middle east I hear. Our soldiers have seen this type of activity before.

One who disarms his subjects?

I shouldn't have <just> shown Hitler's photo-op with kids before in comparison to another political leader posing with kids who also wants to disarm a populace .... It's actually quite common for "that type" to do it.... It's for the children...

Watching it now.

We are in trouble. Notice the desk to the right of the stage. I guarantee an EO (or multiple) will be signed today.

Bad. Bad. Bad.

Well, we'll need to see how things pan out.

Before we get all fired up, let's see what's coming down (even though we know we won't like it...)

Then, we can see the legal response from the NRA and the political responses from the Republicans and individual states (Texas in our case).

As they say, it ain't over 'til it's over.

He makes me sick. Playing on emotions and says whatever it takes to get his way. Obamacare all over again.
