That is a very interesting theory about how they arrived at their magic "safe" number. The Annoyed Man wrote:It occurred to me that the two most prominent gun manufacturers in New York—Kahr Arms and Kimber—manufacture guns that come with 7 round (or less) magazines. I wonder if that has anything to do with the magazine limit as passed. Otherwise, I would have expected a multiple of 5 for semiautos.

When NYPD shoot they typically have to fire off 7 rounds per single hit and in the gaming world one hit, one kill.

Some of their guns come with 8 round mags, such as this one.The Annoyed Man wrote:It occurred to me that the two most prominent gun manufacturers in New York—Kahr Arms and Kimber—manufacture guns that come with 7 round (or less) magazines. Kahr is headquartered in New York, but the manufacturing is in gun friendly Massachusetts.

Here's a funny twist on the NY legislation...
LE is NOT exempted from the legislation as it was passed.
I'm sure that will be changed, but, funny nevertheless.

So in NY if the legal, responsible legislative process had been followed LEO would be exempt and the people would be prohibited.RoyGBiv wrote:Here's a funny twist on the NY legislation...
