Maybe we should have a "prisoner" exchange with NY. We send them the liberals from Austin and get the conservatives from NY in exchange.

The Annoyed Man wrote:It occurred to me that the two most prominent gun manufacturers in New York—Kahr Arms and Kimber—manufacture guns that come with 7 round (or less) magazines. I wonder if that has anything to do with the magazine limit as passed. Otherwise, I would have expected a multiple of 5 for semiautos.
That is a very interesting theory about how they arrived at their magic "safe" number.

When NYPD shoot they typically have to fire off 7 rounds per single hit and in the gaming world one hit, one kill.

Some of their guns come with 8 round mags, such as this one.

And this one.

Kahr is headquartered in New York, but the manufacturing is in gun friendly Massachusetts. :smilelol5:

Here's a funny twist on the NY legislation...
LE is NOT exempted from the legislation as it was passed.
I'm sure that will be changed, but, funny nevertheless.

http://www.algraf.org/2013/01/15/graf-r ... -gun-bill/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
“My daughter is a New York City police officer, and under this legislation, we’ll be taking bullets out of her gun while the bad guys have no such limitations,” said Graf. “This is what happens when you circumvent the legal, responsible legislative process: you end up with a well-intentioned bill that completely misses its mark and ends up putting the safety of our children and families at risk.”

So in NY if the legal, responsible legislative process had been followed LEO would be exempt and the people would be prohibited.

No; the NY police will just ignore the law and pretend it doesn't apply to them.
