I and several family members have used your service. I have been informed you have taken the irrational and decidedly political position of rejecting any and all firearms related deals.

We have ceased using your site and services.

Yes I posted in the Instructor area just so instructors would be warned of their antics against instructors. If that thread needs to be locked, that is fine. This is the main thread.

They replied already
Hi Wesley,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your feedback and take these inquiries seriously.

Gun-related deals, including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry, and clay shooting, are on hiatus as we review our internal policies for the types of deals that we feature. Groupon has always aimed to offer deals driven by local consumer preference and request; at this time, enough consumers have asked us to eliminate the category that we believe a review is warranted. A decision has not yet been made.

Please note that all existing purchases for gun related Groupons are still valid and deals that were previously offered are not being canceled.

Per your request, I've unsubscribed this email address. You will stop receiving Groupon promotional emails within 48 hours. Let me know if you would also like me to close your purchasing account permanently. Please note that once your account is closed, you will no longer be able to access previously purchased Groupons, and any existing Groupon Bucks will be voided.

Thank you again for contacting us and please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Regards,

Brittany H

At least they responded quickly. Unfortunately, it was a generic answer that pretty much tells us not to use them.

This is outright lies. "Local consumer preference"???? This is TEXAS. Do they really expect me to believe that the "Local consumer preference" here in the DFW area is anti-gun?

Mine said words to the effect, "Thank you for your input. Though we normally like to respond within 24 hours, we are currently experiencing a back log. We will try and respond as soon as possible."

My original letter to them notified them I was disappointed they apparently wanted to discourage people from learning the safe use of firearms. I informed them I was a member of a forum with thousands of members and had posted a call for a boycott if they were unfriendly to gun owners, then they surely would not miss our use of their services.

So far, I have received no response whatever :evil2:

And my reply to them today....
Thank you for your reply to my inquiry. Due to your "hiatus" on firearms deals, I have decided to take a hiatus from your service and have unsubscribed accordingly.

My suggestion is that you follow the lead of Starbucks, a company that saw no negative impact to their business from allowing local law to decide firearms related issues..

http://www.nationalreview.com/the-feed/ ... y-gun-laws" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"The political, policy and legal debates around these issues belong in the legislatures and courts, not in our stores.",

I'd ask you to reconsider this ill-advised decision.

Aliza S must be collaborating. I got the same canned response. My answer back to Groupon....

Aliza:

It would be interesting to understand the process for gathering the data from merchants and customers who voiced their opinions and how that scores vs. those who support the gun-related deals. I've certainly seen many complaints from vendors such as Central Texas Gun Works who have suddenly had their deals and contracts nullified by Groupon in the midst of popular offerings. On the surface this appears to be an arbitrary action from your management and clearly reflects their stance.

I understand the ramifications as outlined in your email. Please cancel my account, remove all personal information including address and credit card, and continue to keep me unsubscribed from your service. Your service no longer reflects my needs and my dollars will go elsewhere.
