Its only February. You still have 10 months before expiration. I bet they get those letters out to you two before then!

Just finished my renewal app my checklist also said i need a chl 90 anyone ever get word from state as to how we do this as no chl 90 online. Thanks for any help.

If I remember right , when I did my last renewal I didn't need it, now I could be wrong but I don't remember doing it.

Got mine today too. And a Jury questionaire for Federal District Court. Don't mind doing my duty, but this one is in Sherman 50 miles away. :grumble

I'm not recommending it, but the form can be found here

Now this is the form where you specify what "handgun training" courses you qualified for and teach. According to this thread, DPS seems to now think that at least one of these courses is required to qualify for the CHL instructor's cert.

EVERYONE HOLD ON!!!

I was just reminded today that your CHL Instructor Certification (or regular CHL for that matter) cannot be renewed more than 6 months ahead of expiration per statutes. The letter was sent out in error too early.

SO, hang on to your renewal notifications for now. You will be receiving additional correspondence from DPS when you are able to renew within the 6 month window.

The payment is good for a year. They can issue the certs whenever they want. Besides, At least for me, it's too late to "hang on" now...
