What Pelosi is missing is that back in the day, legislators didn't make a career out of politics. They did their time and then went home, back to whatever, after just a few years in Washington. If only it were still the same today.....sigh...

They represent their state. They should be paid by their state and get nothing from the federal budget. The same goes for staff and other expenses, including health care and pension, if any. The only thing the federal government should provide a state's representatives and senators is an office and ID card.

YO YO YO, DC is a big business employing millions of people. They make a VERY small salary, for the power that they have, but make up for that in all that they can steal. And they steal A LOT!! If they aren't wealthy, they are likely too stupid to be alive, as trucks full of cash are available to all. Look at Biden's tax return; I rest my case. At the same time, even though their federal salary is a pittance compared to what they get illegally from lobbyists, they still feel that they are entitled to it; even if they don't do their job (like passing a budget, reducing the crippling national debt, etc.). It's like the corporate executive making millions who cheats on his expense reports, because "the rules don't apply".....

She is lucky I am not in charge. I think that every day the US runs a budget deficit every stinking last one of them should have their pay cut to ZERO. If I am feeling nice I might agree to minimum wage!

What dignity?!!! They undermine the dignity of the US Constitution, at least Pelosi and her ilk do.
