We're looking at some really reliable reporting here....

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4668543.html
The victim appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, according to Houston Police Department Capt. Dwayne Ready.
Authorities estimate some 30 people were on the bus.

http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/ ... f07cb.html
The victim, who was shot once in the chest, was an older African-American man.
None of the other 12 passengers on the bus was hurt.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

Hey O6nop,

That should be easy to figure out. See if one reporter talk to the driver, he would say there were 30 people on board when he last check.
Then when the shot was fired, some people scurried away through windows, doors and squirrel holes and only 12 stuck around to give a police report or were in shock that they weren't 12 blocks away by then.
If you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything.

...or when the 12 people actually on the bus started telling what happened, folks who had been on the sidewalk started repeating the story as their own, and were magically transformed into passengers.

Anyone remember the tale of insurance fraud, where an empty, out-of-service NYC bus was involved in a minor fender bender, and a couple of dozen people filed injury claims?

I'm checking into how the threads might be merged, but I am not aware of any meaningful way to do that.

As a compromise, I'm going to lock this thread, not because there is anything wrong with it, but rather to convince folks to carry on the conversation in this thread.
