DFW Get Together - Potluck Thread

I can bring a grill, wife, three guests, other assorted stuff. Has anyone checked with Elm Fork to make sure we are OK with a grill out there? My ammo situation is somewhat limited at the moment, but I'll bring what I have. I have plenty for the Mosin if anyone wants to try that bruiser out........

Wife gave me OK to go, and schedule appears to work out well.

Now if only the weather will cooperate.

What are the hours for this shing ding and where are we setting up things? I've only been to Elm Fork once. I'll have to think about what to bring. I'm not afraid of making anyone sick, but repulsed is entirely possible. I shoot better than I cook

Well, I decided to do something different from brisket. Instead, I am curing my own corned beef. It's still curing now, but will be finished tomorrow and go up on the smoker Friday morning. It'll be done by Friday evening and ready to enjoy on Saturday.

Of course, if I messed up the cure, I won't be bringing anything......

Gonna make all the pinwheels tomorrow night. I also got some medium salsa for dipping. I would normally get hot, but went medium because some folks just aren't as tolerable as I am.

Have em bring a radio and VFR in to KDAL. Bet those Soutwest guys would hate it. I can hear it now: Southwest 1312, left to 1..8...0.. degrees and slow to 6..0.. knots for a glider 3 zero miles on final.

I can run over and pick you up. Just bring a tow plane with you.

Corned beef came out perfect! At least for my tastes. I'll be riding with Ol Goofy Face (Pawpaw) and am looking forward to seeing y'all.

Then you didn't build the dog house correctly. The last one I built was 16'x8' with several electricity outlets, a window air-conditioner, a little ceramic space heater, and a work bench. The dog door that led to the outdoor run, while inside was a 2.5'x4' area for the dog with wrought iron,so he couldn't chew or eat my tools.
