If at all possible, bring a spare semi and spare revolver, also bring spare ammo. Most importantly, shoot what you are bringing before you show up.

I was amazed at the number of people who failed the range portion one or two times because of equipment failures. I know I loaned out my revolver to one guy who was having issues with his S&W model 29 (and yes he was shooting magnums).and loaned out my glock to two people who had equipment failures with their semi's. I also sold my spare ammo to folks that brought only 50 rounds and failed to qualify the first time.

I'd hate to waste all that time and money only to have Murphy kick me in the crotch and have my equipment go down.

Sounds like good advice. I plan on taking 2 1911's with at least 150 rds of ammo, 2 ruger revolvers (both 4 in) and 150 rds for them also. I might even take the bersa 380 as an emergency backup :cheers2:

Going to spend a range day the weekend before also. I'm going the first week of april.

I heard that the sniper is there, but since even DPS can't get ammo, he's now armed with a sling-shot and some gravel. :smilelol5:

I want to make it clear my post above was a joke. I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of a sniper at the DPS range.

(Is there another sniper watching the main sniper, in case HE goes nuts? And who watches the backup sniper?)

After seeing some of the shooting skills, I can understand the boy armor :evil2:

IDK, I still see an awful lot of 7mm on the shelves. :leaving
