^^Yes.^^

I found some at sgammo this weekend and before I could checkout, it was gone :totap: Over the last two or three months, I've managed to buy several hundred rounds of 9mm and .40 FMJ but I'm checking two-four times a day.

I end up spending more but a reduction in stress and frustration is worth it for me. Ive also given up on trying to find ammo to shoot the AR15s. Eventually supply and demand will work itself out so i will just wait. Instead, lots of dry fire practice with pistols and rifles concentrating on fundamentals and technique.

Interestingly enough every time I go into a store looking for 9mm I don't find it but I do find .223 on the shelves. Not a lot mind you but there is at least some to be had.

I've pretty much given up looking for any ammo for now. In fact, I've given up this new-found shooting sports hobby for now as well. I hardly go to the range anymore so as not to use up the little bit of ammo I have left, and I won't be going to the IDPA qualifier, much less to any other IDPA events until the ammo shortage subsides. I've already resigned myself to focus on other hobbies and to rely on snap caps and sight alignment drills in the meantime.

It's all stocked with shotgun and rifle ammunition. All my stores have removed the space from the shelves for high demand ammo and replaced it by doubling up on less demand ammo.

:anamatedbanana

Really, rifle ammo? The last two Walmarts I looked at had one box of .270 between them and no other rifle or handgun ammo of any kind. Academy had a few boxes of .22 mag and .17 HMR, a few box of 30 carbine and 303 British, and just about nothing else.

I understand your frustration. Maybe you should do what I do...go open your ammo safe and take a peeky at all that you have acquired over the years. :biggrinjester: I know it makes me feel a bit better.

I've waited in line a couple of times at Academy (Webster) prior to opening. I've scored a 525 round box of .22LR. I had to show up at 6:45 to be the 6th guy in line. There were probably 50 people in line that morning when the store opened at 8 am. I had missed out the week before when I showed up at 7:30. The trucks come in every day down here, so if you show up early enough you'll get something. They had 6 ammocans of .223 the other morning, and about 20 525 rd boxes of .22LR. No 9mm that morning though.

When the doors open, does everyone take off running to the ammo department? I want a video of that for YouTube! Please!

Those people are all idiots.

If you're reading this, and you are hoarding big amounts of ammo. I hate you, I really do. You are so stupid and pathetic. Want to know how I know that? Because you are making yourself pay for extremely inflated prices that YOU caused. You and your idiotic thoughts of "I have to buy every last box" IS THE PROBLEM and you are no better than anybody who voted for Obama(Anti-Americans). Yes you read that right, you are just the same as a liberal in my eyes. You could be turning into one because you've inflated the market so bad you might be wishing for a socialistic economy. That is how much I despise you. It is because of you I can no longer casually enjoy my hobby of going to the range(you know, the place you go to and actually USE your ammo). Your hoarding mentality could have made you forget that place even existed. So, you have two choices. 1. Buy only what you need to practice with. Or 2. Don't change a thing, have fun getting up at 5:00 AM to stand in line every morning, and stay an imbecile. Choose number 1.

Rant over.

I have a very nice collection of ammo and didn't pay inflated prices for any of it. To be perfectly honest, you sound like someone who is angry that he missed the warning signs and failed to properly prepare.

Tell you what, if you really need ammo I'll be glad to sell you some and you don't have to stand in any lines. Of course a small convenience fee along with processing and handling charges will be applied. "rlol"

It makes me happy whenever I read these threads that I purchased re-loading equipment a while back. I never had plans to load up 9mm because the cost of factory ammo was relativly low. Greybeard is nice enough to let me take some of the 9mm brass from his range so I started loading it and no longer worry about finding ammo for any of the calibers that I own. Sunday evening I had some extra time so banged out 200 rounds. This may not be a good time for people to start reloading because componants are scarce, especially primers although it is something to think about for those who are tired of trying to hunt down ammo. A co-worker has a Dillon Square Deal set up for 9mm that he is selling for $300 with some accesories if anybody in the DFW area is interested........

No early morning lines for me. And I couldn't buy every last box anyway because every place I go has a 1 to 3 box limit. I would buy what I need to practice with, but nothing is available to me, so the only way I can practice with handguns is to use what I had on hand before this started. Now for rifle, I bought a 17 HMR so getting ammo wouldn't be a problem.
