Switching to lead bullets

I've been shooting lead bullets for years. I started out buying Oregon Trail's Lazer Cast bullets with great success. I then tried some of the local manufacturers such as KEAD and RUCKER. They worked just as well as the Lazer Cast. I then found BULLETWORKS http://www.bulletworks.com (Artie and Jimmy Mitchell's business) and have mainly bought from them for the last several years. Their lead bullets seem to be a bit harder than others. My favorites are the .45ACP 230gr. LRN for CDP, the .40 S&W 175gr. LSWC for Limited and the 9mm 135gr. LRN for ESP. I am also a big fan of Dave Long's Precision Bullets. http://www.precisionbullets.com

I clean my pistols after every match but...just for fun....I shot over 1000 rounds of lead bullets in front of 4.1grs. of Bullseye w/o cleaning the barrel (KART) in my Colt Series '70 CDP pistol. There was no more lead after 1000 than there is after 20.

for an investment under 100 bucks and a lead supply such as used wheelweight from a tire shop you can cast your own bullets and save a lot of money,my first setup was a bottom pour 20# leepot and a lee 6 bullet mold that used lee alox for lubricant you put about 50 bullets in a small container squirt in a few drops of alox and shake it til the bullets have a coating on them,i could churn out about 500-600 bullets an hour pretty easy
