No dinner break. Either grab something on the way or through a couple of cliff bars in your range bag (that's what I do).

Question: My friend Dan had an XD45. I had an XD9. He shot CDP and I shot ESP. He got to load his magazines to 8 rounds. I got to load to 10. Why did he shoot CDP then? I didn't see the advantage.

Dan actually could shoot CDP or ESP with his XD45. You however can NOT shoot CDP with your XD9. CDP = 45acp only.

CDP has a minimum power factor requierment of 165
ESP only requires 125.

I have shot my Glock 21 with some seriously downloaded 45 ammo that recoils less than a 38spl and have considered shooting it in ESP. But, I'm not sure the bullets will actually make holes in the cardboard.

Advantage to shooting CDP with an XD45?, none, but he'd have been really handicapped shooting full power 45 in a class (ESP) that requires a substantially lower power factor.

He could shot ESP with his XD45 and be able to load 10 rounds per magazine, which would mean no reloads on some of the stages. So why was he advised to shoot CDP?

Because it was a 45. I had extra reloads too but that doesn't make me want to shoot in a different class. Some stages are better suited for one class over another, it's just the nature of the game. I've shot plenty of stages where a CDP shooter has an advantage because of where in the course of fire he/she will be at slide lock.

If he really wants to use his XD45 in ESP then he is certainly welcome to do that. There is no rule that says he can't.

Oh, and did you notice that 1st and 2nd place were both won by CDP shooters?

Yet another question...

We spent three hours there and got to shoot in four stages. There were roughly 30 shooters. Is that considered a busy night? I was hoping to get to shoot more.

Yes, in that building, 30 shooters is a large crowd. We have to be out by 9pm and only two stages can be set up at one time so there is a 20 or so minute pause after two squads each shoot the first two stages. Sometimes it runs smoother than others. We do the best we can to keep things moving along. I've been there on nights that we shot 7 stages with 20+ people and still made it out on time.
