Some 1911s are "Heinie's". I don't think hers was. :coolgleamA:

The problem with those purses is that the thief targets the purse and if you loose the purse you loose the weapon. My wife got robbed inside a grocery store at 10 AM years ago. She fought for her purse and paid the price. On person is a better option IMO.

My wife will on occasion carry in a bag. The strap has a steel cable that runs from the bottom of the bag on both sides and is long enough for cross body carry. She bought the bag for overseas travel and has had it for several trips. There are other slash resistant bags that have mechanical connections for the strap instead of being a integral part of the bag. Don't get these, thieves know what they look like and simply slash the point were the hardware is attached to the bag. To secure her Commander in the bag she uses: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp?Pr ... alogID=149
I know she picked up the bag in the UK, but I don't remember where, ugly darn thing but effective.

Sure, lots of unexpected things can go wrong in the heat of a true self defense incident.

That still is no excuse for ordinary range practice violating normal safety rules.
