And yet the LEO who actually responded directly to my initial comment managed to do so in the same manner in which the comment was intended and without any "help" from you.

It would appear that one of us gives LEOs somewhat more credit than the other.

TAM,

I agree I do tend to support LEO's because I have been there and seen what they have to put up with, I think the Officer in the OP did right, he respected the reportee and the dogs domain, did a fantastic job. I have supported the decision to encroach the dogs domain when absolutely necessary to save a life or property. Debate is necessary more now than ever I think given the number of things reported as inappropriate activity by officers, but slamming all officers shouldn't be happening. Yes I am guilty of doing just that mostly when I have had a bad day and been fed up with the garbage, but it doesn't excuse the bad behavior on my part nor do I ask for an excuse, but I do ask for a little forbearance at times

All this discussion of shooting dogs should be over in the dogs thread. They are off-topic in this thread.

I never posted the original message for this thread with the idea of slapping LEO's. Just the opposite, in fact.

C'mon, surely you realize by now that forum threads are like teenagers: You create 'em, you watch 'em grow, but, often, at some point, you look back and wonder just that cute little thing you started ever turned into the beast it is today. ;-)

Not my assigned area but this DOES need to get back on topic please.

Dog comments do need to be in the dog thread running.

Make sure there is no disparaging of other posters or LEOs please.

Thanks folks.
