Hey, in the Peoples Reublik of New Jersey this might be more and more common given the oppression of the 2nd Amendment in that "state".

Thugs running over good folks with no hope of justice for the victims.

We lived in NJ for 3 years. You would be amazed at the number of people there who would say that the woman's attitude and actions were correct. If all the the NJ thugs who act as the perp did in the video were caught and put in jail, they would need to double the prison space. Go to Newark or Camden and you would see what I mean. I didn't understand any of it then and it makes a whole lot less sense to me now that we've been in Texas in a completely different lifestyle.

The home invader thug has probably been to prison before...he'll probably end up there again, for whatever crime. He potentially has gang affiliation. He will go to jail and serve some more time and "push weight" while he is there, getting stronger on the taxpayers' dollars. He will come out and be even more vicious. The vast bulk of violent crime is committed by a relatively small group of people, speaking of the population as a whole, from what I gather by reading. A lot of the people in the State of New Jersey seemed to be conditioned to living with (and dying from) this sort of violence without thinking that they can, and should, offer an armed resistance to it. Liberal-progressives can make fun of "flyover country" folks all they want...I'd still rather take my chances here in Texas.

If it was me, the only thing that would separate that man from a horrible painful & miserable death is that I want to be a father to my children until I die of old, old age. Clearly this criminal never had a father, devoted to his children in such a way. And apparently no one ever slapped the %^&@#$ out of him when he was out of line, either. There is ALWAYS someone bigger & stronger than you. Prison tends to teach that lesson to the idiots when the father has failed to do so.

Payback one way or another after the fact is certainly satisfying, but being "rehabilitated' during the course of the crime with no repercussions for the victim is the greatest justice.

I'm thinking that this incident and the NJ crime situation in general are a lot like how it is in the UK.

The UK is even worse, since there is virtually no chance anyone will be armed, and if someone armed is encountered, it's a near certainty they will be prosecuted for defending themselves and spend more time in prison that the thugs who attacked them.

There have been a lot of cases where citizens are harshly punished for firearm related offenses yet Newark is rife with illegal guns and almost nothing is done about it, just like Chicago. NYC under Mayor Blooming-out-of-his-mind has been held up as a nanny State but in NJ
- you can be fined if your dog is not seat belted. The fines are hefty - up to $1,000

The mindset that allows this stuff to remain the law of the land in NJ is the same one that allows NJ governments to trample 2A rights. Northern NJ is also a heavy union area and the unions, including the police union, jealously guard their turf. Our former neighbors from West Milford have a son who is a cop in one of the neighboring towns. If you want a real experience, you need to listen to them talk about the police relative to ordinary citizens. Our neighbor was an electrician's union official and his wife, a teacher, was in the teacher's union that got into with Gov. Christie just after his election. Most of the people where we lived would not be able to tell you much of what is in the Bill of Rights. It is just not part of their thought process.

As much as I despise NJ, I don't think it's quite as bad as the UK, yet. For example, they're not yet imprisoning veterans for merely possessing a shotgun and turning it in to police --at least I haven't heard about it if they are. As far as pumping your own gas goes, we know that's about money, not safety. I had a college roommate from NJ and visited there, and I thought it was a rat hole 30 years ago. In fact, even back then, there was an often heard saying about NJ performing a certain intestinal function for the rest of the country.
