To be fair, as such I can't support municipalities attempting to make such statements either. Municipalities cannot unilaterally void actions by the Federal Government. That is the job of the federal branches of government to fix and check each others' power.
There was a time in our history when people told the patriots you can't do that. You can't defy the British royalty. Apparently they decided otherwise. And the British weren't able to stop them.

I would not take the comment of Cedar Park Dad too serious , seems he tends to stir the pot quite a bit , cant imagine anyone saying that and believing it at the same time .

It was found - and is in the museum just east of the Junior High School between St Lawrence and St Louis St. I believe it fires a 4" diameter projectile, not too impressive compared to Civil War artillery - unless it was looking at you  I second the idea of visiting the old jail (now the visitor center / Chamber of Commerce) and the next door courthouse which has recently been entirely renovated.

[quote="chuck j"]I like this topic ! Wish more folks would stand up for their rights before they lose them . Just as a matter of curiosity wasn't the cannon eventually buried in a creek bed to keep it out of Mexican hands ? That's the way I remember the story , many have searched for it and if it could be found would be a 'national' Texas treasure !

:hurry: Grass roots action such as the position taken in Gonzales is exactly what is needed to reverse this impending federal train wreck.

Gonzales had better prepare for a population explosion.
