That is interesting. I am no lawyer and state that up front with this. In TX one is required to tell a LEO if they are carrying a weapon per the TX CHL. I am curious if a Texas resident, carrying under an out of state permit, is not also required? There is no penalty so it doesn't really matter, but an interesting scenario.

It would be my interpretation that any CHL is required to tell a peace officer in Texas, including Texas residents with Texas CHL's, Texas residents with out of state CHL's, and out of state residents with either Texas or other state CHLs. But the officer will only know if the person has a Texas CHL, since they do not get returns of that type from out of state.

The requirement is in the Government Code but does not limit what license holder (such as Texas residents or licenses issued under this subchapter, etc.), just uses the term license holder. I take it to apply to all.
