then and now...
20th Century: you cannot yell fire in a crowded theatre.
21st Century: you cannot point gun fingers in a crowded theatre.

I can't believe you all missed this. He was just practicing by dry firing his finger gun at the zombies!

Apparently a lot of people on here are afraid of pointed fingers. Lucky he didn't carry in an actual weapon, like a drawing of a gun or a dangerous looking high capacity pop tart. And imagine the terror if that pop tart had been toasted. And of course, pointing a finger may be illegal, but sitting on top of someone and pounding their head in the ground is apparently not. Our legal standards are now being defined by the most fearful among us.

We deserve what we get because we are morons. It obviously works, and works well.

Did you miss that whole mass shooting thing in a movie theater thing?

Did you miss the Mencken quote? Are you seriously contending that a lunatic shooting up a theater in Colorado is going to result in lunatics all over the country shooting up theaters? Sounds to me like you're essentially saying that because a nut shot up a theater in Colorado, you're scared by wonky looking old guys pointing fingers? I recommend you stay very far away from NRA t-shirts (which could be worn by one of those scary tea partiers) and pistol shaped pop tarts, which, if jabbed or thrown accurately might just get crumbs on your shirt or put your eye out.

Some people can't tell the difference between real guns and fingers. Even worse, they breed.

And many would be concerned he's going to follow that up with a real one as that is nutcase behavior
IN A MOVIE THEATER.
This is especially convincing by looking at his mugshot. Wo.

He had seriously tailgated me as I was driving the limit and passing a car, just not as quick as he wanted. I hit my flashers to warn him and he did not like the warning.
Yes this loon doing it might seem silly but from now on I will take it as a serious threat. We all know that someone displayiung a handgun in a threatening manner is a crime, but someone doing the finger pistol can be a threat too. I will call it in.

It's a good thing they keep expelling these kids that do finger guns at recess, or that point pop tarts at each other. Those kids should be arrested as well. I mean, we did just have a whole mass shooting in a school thing. We should all be concerned that those kids could follow up their gun fingers with the real thing.
And for sure, if we see someone walking down the street carrying a gun, he should be arrested for scaring people. I mean, gosh, if someone gets scared because they saw someone do something that isn't illegal, then clearly there was a threat. If that guy has a gun, I'd be afraid he might use it, what with all these mass shootings and all.

I'm glad that you're macho enough to not worry about what looks like a crazy homeless guy walking into a movie theater and finger gunning everyone. I guess the more scaredy cat of us will just have to risk your scorn.

The old Saturday matinee B-westerns must have warped most of us...I recall every kid in the theater pointing finger guns and making "POW" noises as Gene, Roy or Rex took on a gang of bad guys with his 100 shot Colt .44 Peacemaker. At the WWII movies, instead of "air guitars", we all aimed "air Thompsons, M-1 Carbines and BAR's" with "full auto" sound effects.

Fingers are the gateway weapon used by all mass murderers.

Maybe we need to revive the draft....in the military they taught us to distinguish between pointing a finger and pointing a gun.

Infringing on one man's Liberty because he doesn't fit your mold or he's "scary" will ultimately infringe on all mans Liberties with new Laws that affect everyone. One cannot pick and choose what Liberties will be infringed upon because there is a bunch of men that want to infringe on your Liberty to carry a gun, your Liberty to walk down the street without being questioned or frisked, your Liberty to buy a 30 round magazine and the list is endless. We should be very careful with our Freedoms and defend every Law abiding American because all our Liberties may be next. At some point we will all have to stand up or we will lose everything.
