This chart is a bit dated, but shows why Colt set the standard for so many years. They are still the benchmark. Do they make the best M4 anymore? No. That distinction probably goes to the Knight's Armament SR-15. But the Colt 6920 is still the benchmark. And yes, it has a 1:7 twist
