Ayah, since I started IDPA I don't practice in any sort of stance and intentionally switch things up. She Who Must Be Obeyed did look at me askance when I shot a few down range on one foot though...

Am I the only one looking forward to bursting of the Obama Bullet Bubble II just so I can have more practice time and actually start improving my hack shooting again?

You bring up a good point, do you obey or ignore the 30.06 posted signs or carry in prohibited places?

We all know criminals (bad people who wish to do others harm) ignore them and only the good guys (who obey the law) are left defenseless.

FWIW, I personally would not count the good guy who technically breaks the law by ignoring the 30.06 sign or carrys in a prohibited place (best to stay away from both but sometimes it unavoidable) as a criminal.

I always EDC a tactical blade for the times when 30.06 is in effect but still want to have some means of defense.

Or sometimes, as The Gambler once said:

"You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

Now Ev'ry gambler knows that the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep.
'Cause ev'ry hand's a winner and ev'ry hand's a loser,
And the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep."

What I mean is that sometimes it might be worth considering using common sense and making a judgement call, the law is the law but dead is dead. YMMV. Either way you take your chances, a lot like The Gambler.
Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.
There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

At bad-breath distance, a knife can beat a gun...if you know how to use it.
Yes, this. And pretty much everyone knows instinctively how to use a knife. A rookie with a knife knows more about how to use it than a rookie with a gun. Training just makes you better at it.
