I wish that I shared your optimism. The power structure in IL, based in Chicago, has been in place for a very long time and manages to continue to control elections to keep the Elite inner circle of the power structure in power. Until that changes, the diligence and persistence of the many is going to continue to be thwarted by the few. I don't expect that any of us on this forum will see, within our lifetimes, CC in Chicago that even matches what we have today in Texas. I will say the same for NY, NJ.
We could hope that a Washington regime change, with a more aggressive DOJ posture on this matter would help. I don't hold for that either.

I don't understand the wording of the title?
Huh?
(and I'm not trying to be the grammar/spelling police either)

Never been in Cary, Texas 92345?
I think the OP is about places that are restricted by law from CHL carry in Illinois vs. Texas.

I don't regret for one second, moving from IL to TX. We had some home invasion near our home and I worked nights. I took my wife who had never fired or touched a gun before to the local gun store. I wanted to introduce her to them slowly and hoped that she would consider one for home defense. The shop wouldn't even let her touch, hold or see outside the counter, ANY firearm unless she produced a FOID card

We applied that day and almost 6 mo later, FOID cards arrived but she was so disapointed with the way she was treated at the shop, no way she wanted to go back. We moved to TX a few months later and she is now a proud card carrying member of the CHL club. She owns several firearms and enjoys shooting!!!
