Not as easy as expected. Turning over in the hospital bed I pulled the catheter out of my spine. It caused me to leak spinal fluid which caused a whole host of problems. Unfortunately I should have been home and I am still in East Texas. I am supposed to be back in my pulpit this Sunday, but I am afraid I am not going to make it.

Carl, I don't know how I missed this thread. Please forgive me brother, as I know you have prayed faithfully for my own back issues.

Lord, I pray that Carl's procedure will be a long term success and give him long term relief. I pray also for rest for Mary. This pain management problem has been a long and exhausting process. Lord, the distractions of pain can be such a barrier to focusing on You in our daily lives. I pray Father for new strength in Carl's limbs and back. Lord, You have, in Your wisdom and for reasons that are not ours to know or divine, made Carl extraordinarily dependent upon Your grace and provision. I pray Father for Your mercy, for a measure of physical independence for Carl—not so that he would be less dependent upon You, but to make his years easier so that he can continue to serve You with added vigor and delight in You and Your kingdom.

He is my brother, and it would please me to see him well. So I ask for these things in Your matchless Son's name—in the name of Jesus Christ.

I have been w/o internet now for over 6 weeks w/ our move. I am praying thanksgiving for you being home now. May Mary also know the rest that is in the arms of Jesus.

My dear wife received a clean bill of health today. Some things that need to be watch closely, but for now she is 100%
