My best guess is that one of his AH buddies is in the hat making business, and just needs a tiny 'favor' before making another contribution to the exalted one.

I suppose they could issue two of them to each person. One to wear, one to take a crap in. Way too many changes to the Corps since I was in.

I was in building 58 at the Navy Weapons Plant (now the Navy Yard) back in the 60's. Kept my duty rifle as well as my two match rifles and about 1,500 rounds in the barracks. Now ammo not allowed on any base, but silly hats are proposed as issue. Glad I am long gone.

Even if untrue, everyone automatically believes it. Any other President would take that as a message that they need to look at their image.

Well, from what I can determine, there is really nothing to this problem.

The manufacturer of the women's hats is going out of business. Tests have been going on for the women to change to the men's style. They have been used on the evening parades at the Barracks, and it is going well.

The Marine Corps times is trash, it's written by people who would be better suited working for a tabloid.. It always pushes rumors, this won't happen, and if it did. I'd never wear the damn thing on base.

Sorry just realized the NY times posted the original story... Regardless I still don't like the Marine Corps times. lol
