Very difficult to trust any LEO as a "general rule" if one pays attention to the news these days. Do we keep teaching our children that the "Men in Blue" are the good guys and can be trusted? Nope. Never. Not if you want to teach them life lessons that will keep them safe. Those days of blind trust towards the Men In Blue, if not already completely gone, are slipping away day by day, one incident at a time.
When the Citizens of Society are held to a higher standard and stricter punishment than those in Government serving them, who is really serving who?
I'm sure glad I don't live in the city.

I had to read this a few times before I responded. First, I don't trust anyone I don't know, period. If you pay attention to the news, you can't trust politicians, preachers, coaches, teachers... the list goes on.
I think the days of blind trust in relation to anyone solely based on their profession were gone a long time ago. I really don't see a reason to suggest that this applies more or less to Men in Blue than it does to any other profession.

Only on TXCHLFORUM can we go from an article about a cop impersonator to bashing on real cops.

Guess you didn't see the post about the real cop that committed the same crime as the impersonator.Either that or you chose to ignore it.
Idiots are idiots. Criminals are criminals. Good people are good people. Wrong is wrong. Right is right. It doesn't matter if one is a cop or just a mere citizen. The failure of some to accept and acknowledge this is what drives much of the divisiveness between some of the cops and mere citizens on this or any forum. Consistently justifying one's bad behavior just because one has chosen the same profession and belongs to the same brotherhood is at the root of the divide.
The cops are not the victims on here or any forum.

Ha! jmra nailed this one. Got any extra popcorn so we can rewind this thing to Mojo's post?
Edited to add a question:
If one handcuff's a person and assaults them is that not a kidnapping charge as well?

I definitely see this as an abuse if power even though some won't.
It's only an abuse of power if he is on duty, right?
Only if he can't articulate RS for the stop. Apparently, he said he had RS for the stop so all should be well.
Not necessarily. If he lies about it under oath he might be forced to take a 15 day vacation.

I believe this would be aggravated kidnapping.
Sec. 20.04. AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING. (a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly abducts another person with the intent to:
(4) inflict bodily injury on him or violate or abuse him sexually;

Not according to some on this forum.

The LEO posted above (Jackie Len Neal SAPD) was accused of rape 2 years earlier according to the SAPD. Will be interesting to see his sentence.
A quick google search shows "Handcuffing Kidnapping Rapists" Daniel Lopez - FWPD got 20 years and Adan Carranza - HPD got 10 years.
Mandatory Life without parole seems fitting for these crimes.
Mothers, Daughters and Wife's LIVES were destroyed here so why not the LIFE's of the criminals? Crazy.
I hope they catch this new DFW "handcuffing rapist predator" really quick.

Three instances of sexual impropriety and nothing but crickets from some on here. Just how well does the "system" work? Is this the same "system" some would have us put our complete and total faith in to get to the bottom of things? I wonder how some would feel if it was your wife, sister or daughter that was the victim of this cop that had two prior instances of impropriety on his record?
Both of the scum should meet the severest of punishments.

Ladies should never get out of the car or roll the window down until a marked car with a second female LEO arrives if needed.
All business can be conducted in a 1/2 inch window gap while dialing 911 and a family member.

Unfortunately I think a cop (one of the not so good ones amped up on adrenaline or whatever else) will smash out the windows taze her then say she was resisting. Not trying to LEO bash with a large brush, but if you don't do precisely what a cop says you can end up dead. We do not have the option not to trust the police and to act with caution. We are required to obey no matter what or we can be maimed or killed.
How can we protect ourselves when those entrusted to enforce the law break it most grievously under the guise of enforcement. Somehow there needs to be serious repercussions for doing so. When a pastor or a priest is accused of anything like that he is immediately removed from leadership. He is relieved of all duties and membership is limited to service attendance only. He cannot return until 100% cleared of all suspicion. We need something similar here.

But males are not the only ones capable of raping women on the side of the road.

OK folks, make sure you don't blatantly cop bash in violation of the rules. Individual incidents are OK to discuss, but blanket statements are not acceptable.
Remember, there are bad apples in all professions, including doctors, teachers, preachers, etc. With today's media and Internet sources we hear about them all across the country and world, where not long ago you were lucky to hear about local incidents. This makes it seem like there are exponentially more than ever, when I doubt the numbers are really that many more than have always occurred.

Seriously.
Back in the day when this forum started (before my LEO days) it wasn't like this.
