Here is the targets with my first 223 handload.

100 yrds in-door range at Frisco Gun Club on Jan 18 2014. Benchrest shooting.
Rifle: SIG M400 16.5" M4 profile barrel topped with Leupold VX-R 4-12x42.
handload: 55gr Hornady FMJ-BT with canilure over 24gr of H355 using a CCI primer.

I did not expect better than 2" from 16.5" barrel of M400 5.56. It is handloads that make the huge difference.
Just to compare when I run out of handloads, I fired a 5-rd group of Federal XM193 balls and the group opened up to 3" to 4" at 100yrds

Best group as shown above where around 1" to 1.5" at 100yrd. That is :shock: from semi-auto AR-15.
