:iagree: Exactly right. Also, the comment about resisting a rapist doesn't increase the chances being injured or killed in the assault is wrong.

This product is a sham and unfortunately some women are going to fall for it. What does the manufacturer expect a woman to do when the rapists holds a knife to her throat or a gun to her head and says "take them off?"

Ladies, buy the underwear you like, then carry a gun to make sure they come off only when you want them to.

Exactly what I was thinking, they have made some pretty strong statements.

I was scanning the forum Sunday evening and opened this thread and naturally went to the link. At the same time Mrs. Anygunanywhere was on the phone in her recliner next to mine. She glanced over at my screen and slapped my arm as if she had caught an errant teen ogling a lingerie catalog. I told her it was a link from the forum and gun/self defense related but she gave me the old eye roll routine. :confused5

I promptly pointed out that some of the catalogues she receives in the mail are a lot worse.

I agree with the comments about the concept being bizzarre.

It might be useful if your worst fear is a drunk boyfriend.

I think a better line of clothing would be full plate armor, complete with longsword and mace.

There is a strong sentiment in the young liberal-progressive movement that any kind of self-defense is worse than the crime itself. From that vein of thought, absurb concepts like this evolve.

I think that this trend started a long time ago. It is just being continued and propagated to the newer generations.

In the sixties, I remember a couple that was anti-self defense. The guy owned guns and was a duck hunter. One day he stated that he would never shoot a person. I asked about whether or not he would use a gun to defend his [then] girlfriend. He said, "No!"

They are still married. I wonder if they feel the same way?

If I were that girl, my greatest fear would be being stupid enough to date a drunk. I am by no means a "blame the victim" kind of guy; I worked far too long in a large ER, seeing too many women victimized by rapists to be in anyway a blame the victim kind of guy. But if I were dating someone who turned out to be a drunk, getting out of that relationship ASAP would be my highest priority, BEFORE something like that could happen.

bizzare....

I can't believe they made their goal....

and I agree with TexasGal, it's just going to make the rapist angry....why would you let a potential rapist get that close to you? have a gun or other defense ready....is the defense now going to be to let him get to that point then get frustrate and leave? yeh, right. instead of rape, it's going to result in something much worse.

If you were that girl, you would probably get as drunk as him.

Maybe the target market is college students who drink so much at frat parties they pass out.

My favorite part of the video is around the 1:30-1:45 section, where the guy tries to use scissors and then a knife to cut the garment. In a desperate last minute attempt, he crumples it up in his hand, but the garment still doesn't tear.
