Tonight on the 10PMnew broadcast Channel 2 KPRC in Houston is supposed to run a story on the young lady who was the victim of this crime. I have no details as to whether any law enforcement has been involved. My future S-I-L said his Metro police friend said they are were going to call her, but no one knows if that has happened.

EDIT: The news had a montage of photos that included an expensive purse, which got a lot of negative comments on Channel 2's Facebook. Ashley was chastised for carrying an expensive purse which upset her because it's not her purse. She can't afford a purse like that, besides hers was stolen. She still has problems with language which is evident by her term "glamorous" relating to the assailant's motive.
One other sad note about this family. Her uncle's wife's sister was tied up, tortured and killed about a year ago by her boyfriend. I almost posted about it because unbelievably he he was released on bond. Per the story at least HPD is investigating Ashley's assault.

Feedback to Channel 2 must have worked. The reporter called and apologized for including the photo of a designer purse in the video. Kudos to him for doing the right thing.

:mad5 I would really like to be standing face to face with a moron when they blame the victim for the criminals behavior. It would give me the freedom to hit them in the jaw with all my weight. Then I could tell them I figured it would be OK to cold cock them since they deserved it.

I saw that on Channel 2 last night and that was just awful. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Me too. That could have been any one of our daughters! :mad5

You have mentioned they are not really wealthy folks. If they or someone else sets up some type of fund to help her with expenses, please post it up or send me a PM. I would be more than honored to contribute. :tiphat:

Thanks, 03Lightningrocks. That is most gracious of you. I don't know if rules allow solicitation and I never intended this to be one, but I asked my daughter and was told a site has been set up. I will send you the link. Anyone else who may be interested can PM me.

I didn't know the rules either. That was why I asked the way I did. I know your intentions were never to ask for assistance. I am pretty sure it is OK if I want to offer it. Pm received. Done. Keep us updated. Every time I read this thread I think about how crushed I would be if anything like this happened to my daughter. None of us can help with every bad situation we read about but we can sure pick one or two now and again. A young lady trying to work her way through school and do something with her life deserves to be considered when choosing.
