There have now been two demonstrations in Beaumont since Derek Poe's arrest at the mall. While they may be determined to exercise 2a rights, they are detrimental to the cause IMO.

You wouldn't think so, but those young bananas aren't nearly as slippery as the really ripe ones.

On a more serious note, this serves to illustrate that long gun open carry is legal in theory only, as several "catch-all" charges like disturbing the peace and soliciting without a permit can easily be made.

It also goes to show that people are not capable of utilizing common sense when not regulated by law. Sad state of affairs actually. There was a time when intelligence ruled the way. Not with these clowns.

And a lot of them get government checks.

I'm just curious, do you feel that way about all constitutionally guaranteed rights, or only some of them?

Any of them that are abused to the point of no longer being a right but instead an infringement of my rights. Get it? Do you really believe all constitutional rights are pure as the driven snow? How about porn? How would you like to explain to your grand children the nature of human sexuality after they just saw a woman strutting naked through the mall? How about we exercise our right to put up billboards with objectionable language? Who gets to determine the difference between objectionable and acceptable.
Go ahead! Exercise your right to free speech and cuss me out on this forum. You can't. Because the moderators of the forum dictate what amount of free speech we may have.
So I am going to go with you are only for the constitutional rights as long as they are in your idea of acceptable?

Keep the red herring arguments to yourself please. The second amendment says the right of the people to "keep and bear arms shall not be infringed", yet you seem to cheer the arrest of anyone who does bear arms. Why is that?

It is you that started the red herring argument. And then you lost.

It can't be explicitly allowed via the constitution and at the same time party to the subjective whim of what you're calling "common sense". Not everyone views "common sense" the same way.
If times have changed, laws need to be updated. And be careful, you don't want to be called a "gun control advocate" by suggesting that we do that. I actually think it's worse to be OK with "solve the problem" arrests than to suggest that the laws are outdated.
Many of your posts have illustrated a very conservative black and white picture of things. How can you support the 2nd amendment as written, but be OK with the fact that you could be arrested for carrying an unloaded 30.06 over to your neighbors house in most communities?
BTW, the red herrings are yours:
1) Full nudity in public isn't an explicit constitutional right. Red herring. It doesn't compare.
2) You have constitutionally protected speech. Who gets to decide was is protected? The courts have clarified it time and time again. Swearing isn't protected unless in protected context. Posts on a privately owned forum, not protected. Flying the American flag and indicating that the Democratic party stinks (choose your language) - protected. Either you're unaware or you're making a argument to distract - Red Herring.
It's interesting to see you talking about cussing and moderation... Actually, a bit ironic.

Hey guys, I'm the OP of the threat and I really thought it would morph into banana jokes....like a-peel, slip out of town, etc. Those were funny. This political diatribe is tiring. Can we close this thread?

Yea, despite the banana suit, we all know why he was arrested... The suit is easy to laugh at. The situation not so much.

Fair enough. How about this for some banana humor.
